That is the reason we also go abroad beforehand. We slowly become language proficient (today there are more than 50 bilingual employees and some of them speak three languages), as well as becoming aware of cultures and locations in other countries.

We want the foreigners who visit us to experience a good mixture between what they have left back home and the special things we have to offer. This is where personal warmth comes into play, recognized by all as the big differential of the Brazilian people, and specially true when you are in Clínica São Vicente.

Not only can we assist individuals but we are also ready to meet the needs of companies, consulates and international insurance companies. We seek to facilitate the access, via telephone or electronic means, to family or corporate ties. And when necessary we handle all the process to repatriate patients who need further medical care.

Each profile receives tailor made services
In specializing the services targeting foreigners, Clínica São Vicente created programs adapted to the demands and characteristics of the many nationalities assisted. 24 hour professional bilingual staff, special diet requirements, the relationship with the physicians, the support staff and the patient, contact with family members, the consulate and other stakeholders, in order to meet simple needs, such as a newspaper or magazine to read in your mother tongue, are characteristics that offer more comfort and safety.

The follow-up continues even after discharge, when special needs are met, including those involving the airlines, to arrange special accommodation on flights. 

Servicing Consulates
Due to the distinct service rendered by Clínica São Vicente, its clients trust and recognize its importance and have made it a reference hospital among the consulates, embassies and foreign representations. Our teams can prepare personalized programs, both temporary and permanent, based on the needs of the corporations. 

Mauá Píer Project
Since 2003, the international cruise ships that arrive in Rio are covered by an advanced medical venue in the passenger terminal. The venue is staffed by a nurse technician, a physician and a rescue ambulance prepared to remove the patient in case of accidents or if more severe interventions on passengers or crew, in accordance with all the demand of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The physicians have ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) training. These courses are approved by the international organizations, such as the American Heart Association, and trains the professionals to offer the best care in the least amount of time, quickly identifying the complications a patient might have.

These services are the result of a partnership amongst Clínica São Vicente, the administration of Mauá Píer and the Medical Center Atlântico Sul, coordinated by Dr. Antonio Carlos Sousa Júnior, a physician who specializes in assisting foreigners. 

Servicing offshore companies
Clínica São Vicente offers support to many international companies who operate the oil platforms in Macaé, in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The service is coordinated by Dr. Ivan Drummond Filho, who specializes in emergencies and medical procedures for offshore companies. Clínica São Vicente offers all support for the staff working away from home, including care and prevention of occupational diseases and initial and periodic check-ups. Each company is offered an option of a personalized package of exams, elaborated in accordance with their needs. A professional accompanies the patient through each one of the stages of the process and the charts are quickly and safely sent to the companies, even to those overseas.

The quality standard of the services offered is always being developed in order to make each patient feel unique, aware that he/she is receiving the best technical and human resources that medicine can offer. 

2007 Pan-American Games
Two years before the 2007 Pan-American games, to be hosted in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the Clínica São Vicente staff who assist foreigners have been developing projects to meet the additional demand the city we have due to the games. The estimates show that over 5,500 athletes alone will be here coming from 42 countries, in accordance with the figures from the Organizing Committee of the Pan-American Games Rio-2007. From June to August 2007, part of the Clínica São Vicente structure shall be directed to these athletes and tourists.. That includes a high complexity hospital, internationally renowned that invests in technology, teaching and research, and above all, a privileged location, in the middle of the Atlantic Rain Forest.
